Got a question

This year’s Kells Road Races was a huge success, with thousands of visitors from across the country making it down to the Crossakeil circuit in County Meath.

We were title sponsors of this year’s event, which made a return following a three-year absence. Judging by the sheer number of fans turning up to support their favourite riders, it’s fair to say that absence truly does make the heart grow fonder! It was a double-win for Manx rider and Kells newcomer Dan Kneen, who finished first place in both the Open race and the Grand Final.

Kneen, from the Isle of Man, was racing for John Burrows’ Cookstown BE Racing team and rode a GSX-R1000. Kneen has been making a few impressive debuts this year, taking the trophy at the Cookstown 100 race back in April as well as scoring a double victory at his first-ever Tandragee race one week later.

The Open race saw a battle between Kneen and Derek McGee, with McGee crashing out during the final corner of the race. McGee was luckily unhurt and managed to go on to secure himself a win in the Supersport class.

Skerries racer Michael Sweeney finished second overall with Jamie Hamilton completing the top three. Sweeney finished first place in the 250cc race, while Connor Behan was victorious in the Supertwins class. Sam Dunlop raced to victory in the 125cc class.

All in all it was a fantastic event, and a big thanks to everyone who made it down!
