Hundreds brave the rain at Waterford Motorcycle Fest 2015

Waterford was buzzing over the weekend as hundreds of bikers braved the rain for the annual Motorcycle Fest 2015, organised by Waterford Harley Davidson and Freewheelers MC Ireland.

The fun, free event never fails to pull in the crowds and this year’s festival was no exception – around 400 bikers turned out for the ride out from Carlow and many more came to check out the motorbikes in the custom show - the replica Easy Rider bikes customised by Freewheeler MC members always attracting particular attention (and rightly so).

Highlights from Waterford Motorcycle Fest 2015

The weekend kicked off with the Boobs and Balls charity ride-out from the Dolman Hotel in Carlow to the Waterford Motorcycle Fest, raising money on behalf of the Solas Centre for Cancer Care, which provides support services for cancer victims and their families throughout South East Ireland.

Getting the party started for the thirsty bikers upon their return, various live bands performed in a number of bars on the festival’s Beer Trail as riders enjoyed a well-earned pint or two. Bullets In Chicago rocked Shortts Bar on Friday night while Audio Circus entertained the crowds at Geoff’s.

Carole Nash at Waterford Motorcycle Fest 2015

Never ones to miss a party, the Carole Nash crew were on hand as festival sponsors, handing out our much wanted goodie bags. One lucky punter walked away with €250 off their insurance premium in our regular free prize draw give away.

There was no end to the party atmosphere on Saturday, with dozens of bikes and trikes on display – the best in show winning prizes and rosettes. The Unusual Suspects headed up the Carole Nash Main Stage in Red Square - their infectious blend of rock, ska and funk had the crowds dancing along despite the drizzle.
