REVIEW

Party on at Prescott Bike Festival 2016!

We had great weather, a great crowd, and a great party atmosphere with live music the whole day long at the Prescott Bike Festival! It was heart-warming to see so many bikers turn up at the prestigious Bugatti Owners Club in Cheltenham, because all proceeds from the event will go to The Nationwide Association of Blood Bikes and Severn Freewheelers.

We made many new friends, and our old mate Allen Millyard even popped over to say hello with his famous ‘Flying Millyard’. What a machine!

And talking of stunning machines . . .

Causing a sensation, the Indian Riders Motorcycle Club rode up with the very best in classic and vintage models from this legendary American marque. Just amazing! In fact there was classy engineering pretty much everywhere you looked. Display after fabulous display of historic, rare, modern, factory race bikes, one offs, special builds and lots more crowd-pleasers.

The excitement climbed high at Prescott Bike Festival 2016

As ever, the world famous Prescott Hill Climb provided some thrilling riding with challengers competing for the title of Star of the Show? And there were plenty of takers for the offer of exhilarating passenger experiences in a Formula Two, Watsonian Squire Sidecar, Morgan Three Wheeler, Grinnall Trike or Scorpion.

But the real white-knuckle riding came from the ‘On The Edge’ Motorcycle Stunt Trials Display Team. And when you saw what they got up to, it was easy to see why they bill themselves as the world’s best stunt riders. 15ft jumps up vertical walls, amazing ‘drop offs’, a full range of freestyle tricks and wheelies – on back and front wheels! It was the impossible, performed against a powerful musical backdrop that pumped up the almost unbearable tension.

Show ‘n’ Tell at Prescott Bike Festival 2016

The Paddock area was the place to be at lunchtime, with a special Show ‘n’ Tell area featuring riders and their bikes. And just to drop a few famous names, a whole galaxy of stars lit up the show. Including BSB Champion John Reynolds, MotoGP Commentator Steve Parrish, TT lap record holder James Hillier, former BSB and TT road racer Steve Plater, and Skyzone’s Chris Hodgson. Plus, Matt McKeown and his World's Fastest jet-powered Shopping Trolley!

We loved pitching up at Prescott Bike Festival 2016

It was great to enter into the spirit of it all and enjoy the fun. One of our girls even went out on to the grid, while the rest of us were kept busy handing out balloons - much to the delight of the many children that turned up for this family-friendly event.

In the Carole Nash tent, we had a good natter with fellow bike fans, and one of the hottest topics was the amazing insidebikes app powered by Carole Nash.

The app includes a breath-taking augmented reality 360O experience that puts you in the saddle of Rocket Ron Haslam’s Honda superbike as you speed round Donington GP Circuit. Downloaded it yourself yet? Go on, it’s free!

To complete a fantastic day out we held a free prize draw for a fabulous GoPro package!
