The beautiful North Wales countryside was almost as stunning as the bikes on show at this year’s LlanBikeFest!
Riders from around the world gathered in Llangollen on the weekend of 23-24 July for two days of biker bliss. After a brilliant first year in 2015, LlanBikeFest is now firmly established – and it took its reputation to the next level in July 2016.
There were bikes, clubs, traders and visitors from every corner of the UK and beyond. And while they’d come to share the fun with fellow bike enthusiasts, one special guest stole the show.
A world champion picks his number one at LlanBikeFest
Motorbike legend Giacomo Agostini, a 15-time world champion, happily signed autographs and posed for selfies after attracting huge crowds.
Agostini claimed 122 Grand Prix wins during a career that many rank as the best of all time, but he faced an even bigger challenge when he was tasked with picking the one bike at LlanBikeFest that he would love to take home.
Eventually the Italian hero settled on a bike from Destiny’s Cycles called Ramalamadingdong. Carole Nash’s very own Abbie Parmeshwar joined the bike’s creators, Vic and Lin, to collect the award.
The bike was displayed (along with a trike from The Trike Shop, which came in Agostini’s top 10) on the Carole Nash stand – giving visitors the perfect opportunity for a close-up viewing.
An action-packed Welsh adventure at Llan BikeFest
Wherever you looked, bike fans were having a scorching time in the sunshine at LlanBikeFest. Local TT racer Paul ‘Moz’ Owen made an appearance and The Ready Eddies, a brilliant Wolverhampton band, kept up the atmosphere with two days’ of live performances in the outdoor family entertainment area.
For those of a certain vintage, Graeme Hardy’s superb tribute to George Formby included a replica of Formby’s home-made racer – a 1926 Model P Triumph.
Catching all the action with Carole Nash
Over at the Carole Nash stand, the Carole Nash crew spent the weekend chatting to bike fans, posing for selfies and handing out goodie bags. One lucky winner even walked away with a GoPro package in our free prize draw.
We also welcomed two Carole Nash competition winners to the show on Sunday 24 July. They got to meet racing champ Giacomo Agostini, treat themselves to a free lunch in the hospitality area – and picked up official LlanBikeFest t-shirts!
And we lost count of the number of people downloading the fantastic insidebikes app powered by Carole Nash!
