Bring on the Bexhill Motofest!

Everybody knows that bikers do like to be beside the seaside, so get yourself down to Bexhill on Sunday 26 July for the Bexhill Motofest 2015!

The Bexhill Motofest prides itself on being the most prestigious new free-to-attend biking event on the south coast. And with over 10,000 visitors to the event last year, who’s going to argue! It’s certainly ‘new’ – this year’s Bexhill Motofest is only the second to be held in the town.

What’s on at Bexhill Motofest 2015?

The theme at Bexhill Motofest is very much focused on family fun. Not least the live mini moto racing from Fab Racing in the main seafront car park, bringing a junior championship into the heart of the birthplace of British racing. As you might guess from the slogan on the town’s name signs, Bexhill was apparently the location for the first motor race in the UK in 1902!

There will be demonstration rides of mini GP racing and mini sidecars, as well as ‘have-a-go’ sessions for anyone with a valid CBT licence and riding kit. The big boys are also in town, with a 100-strong Harley charity cavalcade through the town centre to the De La Warr Terrace on the promenade.

De La Warr Terrace is also where the main stage will be, with live music throughout the day, as well as in various locations across Bexhill itself, and there’s town centre display parking for hundreds of bikes – so make sure you arrive early to bag the best spots.

Tapping into the town’s rich motorcycle culture, the De La Warr Pavilion will be hosting a unique ‘MotorcycleAsART’ exhibition, featuring amazing motorcycle sculptures and art from Belgium’s Roland Groteclaes, as well as the latest works from local motorcycle portraiture artist Michelle Szpak. Both artists will be at the show to discuss their work and take commissions.

Family fun at Bexhill Motofest 2015

Perhaps not as cultural, but a darn sight noisier – and always a huge hit with the kids – will be the family funfair and Bexhill SafetyFest, in support of Kent, Surry, Sussex Air Ambulance and supported by Bikesafe and Bikerdown.

Kids can also head over to the Carole Nash stand, where the Carole Nash Crew will be handing out balloons and goodie bags, as well as providing money-saving on-the-spot bike insurance quotes and offering lucky visitors the chance to win £250^ off their insurance in our free prize draw give-away.

Tickets and more info on Bexhill Motofest 2015

Proceedings are set to kick off at 8am on Sunday 26 July, before winding down around 6pm. Most of the action is along the seafront, but many of the town’s pubs and bars also join in the fun throughout the day, with music, barbecues and biker-themed promotions. And best of all, the event itself is free to attend.

You can find out more on the event’s official website. Or just point your bikes towards the south coast and head for the best of Bexhill!
