What’s on at Durham BikeWise 2017

Durham BikeWise is now known as something of a star-studded bash, thanks to celebrities from the biking world regularly dropping by. Some of the best-known motorcycle stunt stars and riders have made special appearances at the annual event to date, and whispers have already begun about who will fill the role of star guest for 2017.

Last year, renowned Isle of Man TT racer John McGuinness showed his support for the event, mingling with the gobsmacked crowds, while world record holder and acclaimed stunt rider Dave Coates has put in an appearance for the last 21 years.

Will Dave be back to join the stunt riders putting on this year’s thrilling display? Join us in Durham on July 23 to find out!

A day of family fun at Durham BikeWise 2017

There’s something for all the family at Durham BikeWise 2017, from gleaming machines from some of the biggest and best motorcycle manufacturers to interactive educational sessions from the fire and rescue services. The air support police helicopter is another top attraction set to make an appearance at the event, much to the delight of the younger visitors.

That’s not all, though – kids can get a taster of riding with the Mini Bike Club, which allows youngsters to safely ride mini bikes at set times under the expert eye of the Durham Police Motorcycle Section, while the dog show is always a big hit, putting police dogs through their paces to illustrate just how well-trained these clever canines are.

Charities set up all sorts of competitions and sales to raise funds and there are opportunities to enjoy a bit of biking banter with riders from all the local motorcycle clubs. Add to this plenty of places to refuel with food and drink and live music to enjoy and you’ve got the makings of a fun day out for the whole family!
