Motorcycle Live 2015 lives up to expectations big style!

If you live for biking, Motorcycle Live this was the place to be, and almost 120,000 bike-mad visitors made it an unforgettable show. Not least because it was an amazing event for celebrating the 30th birthday of Carole Nash Insurance!

Along with lots of special treats, we marked the occasion by serving up some amazing machines on our stand. So there was a great buzz as bikers swarmed round a display that included the vintage AJS of Ivan Rhodes, our first ever policyholder. And they were just blown away by attention-grabbing creations by the very best names in custom builds – including all the previous winners of our Britain’s Got Biking Talent and Built in Britain competitions.

There were even more show stoppers elsewhere on site, including Custom Xtreme supported by Back Street Heroes and Streetfighters.

A white-knuckle race in ‘Rocket’ Ron Haslam’s saddle

One of the biggest blasts of the whole show was the launch of the full version of our new toy, the awesome insidebikes app.

The apps’ augmented reality ‘Race with Ron’ experience dares you to take a 3600 virtual reality ride around Donington GP Circuit astride Ron Haslam’s Honda CBR600RR. Download and try it yourself … if you’ve got the bottle.

The insidebikes app will be a must-have for all bikers as more features are added, from the latest biking gossip to upcoming events and free offers.

Bike after breathtaking bike

Bikes were what people came to the show for, and they couldn’t have asked for more. Suzuki, Kawasaki and all the other big boys were showcasing their latest dream machines.

No wonder so many people were scrambling to get a grip and try out hot models in the Test Ride Zone. There was lots more hands-on excitement, too. The Yamaha MX Experience let people scratch their itch for off-roading, while the dramatic ‘Dark Side’ MT tour gave them escorted rides for an authentic taste of MT. In contrast, Honda’s ‘My First Licence’ let tomorrow’s two-wheelers ride mini motorbikes and learn real skills on the first lap of their journey to the future.

Hanging with the slebs in the Entertainment Zone

British Eurosport’s Entertainment Zone gave great opportunities for selfies with the most famous faces in biking – who were all kept busy with signings, interviews and answering questions from adoring fans. Including the star-struck crew from Carole Nash, of course.

The Blackhorse stage was also hugely popular. Not surprising, as they put on some great games with great prizes. Over on a stage of his own, Nick Sanders was presenting clips from “The Nick Sanders Story – Extraordinary Life of an Ordinary Man”. It was a fascinating insight into the world record circumnavigator.

The bikers of yesterday . . . and tomorrow

Looking back at the UK’s history making moments, another of the most popular spectacles was the National Motorcycle Museum’s unique display celebrating the UK’s pioneering achievements from the last hundred years and more. Let’s hope there’s as much innovation, dedication and excitement over the next hundred years too!

A totally family friendly event, Motorcycle Live just gets bigger and better every year, and everyone here at Carole Nash are proud to play a role in its success.

See you next year – same time (ish), same place!
