Nostalgia reigns supreme at the 39th Carole Nash International Classic Motorcycle Show
Tens of thousands of bike lovers from across the UK and beyond joined us last month for a stroll down Memory Lane at the Staffordshire County Showground for the 39th Carole Nash International Classic Motorcycle Show.
Taking place between 27-28 April 2019, the event ushered in a blistering 48 hours of motorcycling nostalgia. This celebration of some of the finest bikes ever known to man has been growing for four decades. It’s now the biggest show of its kind anywhere in the world – and it’s not hard to see why, with bike fans young and old gathering to at this family-friendly event.
The Old Codgers have still got it
Away from the bustling autojumble and trade stands, one of the highlights of this year’s event was the appearance of the Old Codgers in side cars. They soon had the crowd laughing and cheering, entertaining all before the action headed back inside for some serious spending.
The Bonhams auction is always popular. But it really ramped up this year, with the gavel coming down on a range of high-value bikes – one of which fetched a whopping £200,000!
Elsewhere, a host of big names from the biking world regaled visitors with tales from their careers. And the National Motorcycle Museum was a popular exhibitor, even giving away a motorcycle to one lucky guest!
A glorious biking treble at the Carole Nash stand
The Carole Nash stand was particularly popular at the 39th Carole Nash International Classic Motorcycle Show – with three obvious reasons. Joining us on the stand were three Velocettes: a £45k, 1938 model owned by Allen Millyard, alongside a £75k, 1939 Model O and a priceless 1939 Roarer – both owned by the Rhodes Family Trust.
All weekend, our stand was packed out with a wide range of visitors. It was great to meet so many of you and our team loved being able to help with your insurance questions.
As ever, it was a fantastic weekend at the Staffordshire County Showground. We can’t wait to be back there again in October – we look forward to seeing you there!
