Good things come to those who wait – like the 39th Carole Nash Bristol Classic Motorcycle Show 2019. Heavy snow moved the event back a few weeks but as luck would have it, February 23 and 24 turned out to be the warmest weekend of the year so far, giving riders the perfect opportunity to start the season early.

Bikers from across the South West and beyond turned out in force for an unseasonably sunny ride to Somerset’s Bath and West Showground, where there were hundreds of classic machines to drool over, not to mention trade stalls and local club displays aplenty.

Coveted classics, competitions and biking bargains

First held in 1980, the 39th Carole Nash Bristol Classic Motorcycle Show only gets better with age. After almost four decades, the event has become a favourite fixture on the classic calendar, bringing bikers together over a shared passion for the best models from yesteryear.

Motorcycle clubs from near and far set up stands filled with extravagant classic bike displays while dozens of riders dusted off their pride and joy for the weekend, all in the hopes of winning some fantastic prizes. The ‘best stand’ award and cash prize is always a hotly fought contest and there’s a great mix of barn finds as well as manicured machines to admire, year in, year out.

The Somerset show’s also a great place to meet with like-minded bikers, browse the autojumble for spare parts and biking bargains, pick up some new bits and bobs from the trade stalls and generally enjoy the fun, family atmosphere the event is so well known for.

Carole Nash was pleased to sponsor this fantastic event for another year – the great weather meant more bikers than ever turned out for the show, and the sunshine kept everyone smiling over the weekend.

The team was delighted to have a fantastic model along for the show – a legendary 1925 Coventry Eagle 980CC Flying-8 OHV – painstakingly built by hand and proudly displayed by owner Carl, who went on to win the event’s much-deserved Endeavour Award! We were also honoured to lead the celebrations for a special 50th anniversary presentation with the Rudge Enthusiasts Club.

As well as enjoying lots of biking chitchat with visitors, we ran a brilliant biking giveaway and handed out hundreds of on-the-spot bike insurance quotes, helping riders reduce their premiums and save a few bob. Fingers crossed that the sun shines just as brightly in Somerset next year!
