Record turnout for Brighton Burn-up’s 25th birthday
The 25th anniversary instalment of the Ace Café Reunion and Brighton Burn-up was the biggest and best yet, with thousands of motorcyclists from the UK and across Europe coming together at London’s coolest café to share their collective passion for everything bike.
On Friday September 7th, riders revved up for the Continental Run Ride-In and Bike Night Party at the iconic Ace Café. After a night of festivities on Friday, Saturday saw the café racers and rockers ride out to Battersea Park and back again in time for an afternoon of awards. To follow, organisers put on a whopping 14 hours of live music and DJ entertainment, with the party continuing well into the small hours.
The culmination of the packed event came on Sunday, when the cavalcade of metal roared off to Brighton for the eponymous Burn-up – a day of bikes, bands and plenty of fun, sun and sea, waved off from the Ace Café by none other than the Mayor of Brent.
Bikes and bands by the sea
The sun was shining and spirits were high as thousands of visitors descended on Brighton’s seafront to enjoy the last days of summer, along with some fantastic live music from an array belting bands, including the Draglinks, Porkys Hot Rockin’ and Slim Jim Phantom & Band.
Machines were proudly displayed by visiting bikers and clubs, guests were kept entertained by daring displays put on by the Two Bros Stunt Team and there were all kinds of trade stalls to browse, packed with motorcycling regalia and all manner of biking bargains, accessories and spare parts.
A ‘Best Scooter’ competition was among the day’s events and the Royal Air Forces Association was in attendance raising vital funds for their Wings Campaign as part of Battle of Britain Week.
Carole Nash at the Brighton Burn-up
The Carole Nash team was delighted to attend the Brighton Burn-up once again to mark the event’s special anniversary. We were lucky to have a great spot right opposite the stage – the fantastic bands kept our toes tapping for hours!
We were visited by plenty of customers on the day, who popped over for a chat about winter projects, holidays and – of course – answers to their motorcycle insurance questions. There’s nothing we like better than biking banter, and lots of visitors to our stand received free bike insurance information with the added bonus of a goodie bag for their trouble!
We also ran a free prize draw, which was entered by hundreds of visitors, all keeping their fingers crossed to win an amazing biking prize.
Brighton Burn-up 2018 really was a day filled with fun in the sun – we can’t wait to hit the pier for the 26th instalment next year!
