Irish bike fans are in for a treat later this month as the Doolin Harley Fest revs up for the second of what is hoped will become an annual gathering over in County Clare, on the west coast of Ireland.

Over 200 Hog fans from Ireland, the UK and the US are expected to descend on the town of Doolin over the weekend of the 15th to 17th of May. Based in the grounds of the renowned Hotel Doolin, this year’s fest promises to be the usual riot of motorbikes, music and mayhem!

The action kicks off on the Friday night with a BBQ in the hotel grounds, followed by a couple of great bands in the main marquee. And there’ll be dozens of stands, stalls and displays showing off various bits of bike gear, accessories and, of course, bikes themselves.

The craic continues on the Saturday with a short rideout in the morning, before the day’s main event – the custom bike show – takes over the marquee for the afternoon, including a guest appearance by superstar Irish comedian and motorbike racer PJ Gallagher. The BBQ continues throughout the day, and as befits the home of Irish folk, there’ll be plenty of great music to keep those feet tapping and heads nodding.

If you’re feeling lucky, you can win a Honda CD175 in the charity raffle (€10 a ticket). Luckier still, the Carole Nash Crew will be around all day on the Saturday, with a €250 off bike insurance free prize draw giveaway*.

On the Sunday, the main Burren Rideout along the Wild Atlantic Way starts from Doolin Pier at 1pm, getting back to the hotel mid-afternoon for a charity balloon release, and a lot more music and craic to lead you gently into the evening!

Tickets are €30 for the full festival, which gives you access for the whole weekend, and it’s all in aid of a great cause: the Marie Clancy McDonagh Foundation for cancer research.
