Carole Nash Classic Bike Guide Winter Classic 2019 review

Thousands of bike fans roared into the Newark Showground earlier this month for the annual curtain raiser of the bike show season – the Carole Nash Classic Bike Guide Winter Classic 2019.

Held over the weekend of 6th – 7th January, the first big show of the year is the ideal way to get the New Year off to the best possible biking start. And this year was no exception!

What happened at the Carole Nash Classic Bike Guide Winter Classic 2019?

There was an awesome range of stands, displays, activities and – best of all – vintage bikes over the two action-packed days. The unseasonably mild weather helped to ensure this year’s attendance was better than ever, while moving the show to the Lady Eastwood Centre boosted the friendly, welcoming atmosphere that this show is renowned for.

The dozens of trade stalls, autojumbles and dealership stands were jostling with punters of all ages, hunting out that elusive bargain or sought-after spare part.

And the return of the Scooter World hall proved immensely popular, as people flocked around the gleaming retro machines. It was enough to bring a tear to the eye of even the most stony-faced scooter fan.

Elsewhere, the Motogymkana competition raised pulse rates as the bikes scorched around the obstacle course in the fastest possible time.

Fun with “Fast” Freddie

Guest-of-honour “Fast” Freddie Spencer, former world biking champ, kept the crowds entertained during his on-stage interview, chatting about his book and 1980s glory years. He even found time to pose for a few selfies with star-struck bike fans afterwards.

Carole Nash wins again at Newark!

The Carole Nash team was out in force at the Carole Nash Classic Bike Guide Winter Classic 2019 and it was great to meet so many bike enthusiasts under one roof.

We were ecstatic, too, to welcome a new biking champ to our stand, with the Kawasaki 750 H2C Triple from the wonderful Richard Holmes, winning best trade entry!

Our prize draw also attracted plenty of attention, as did our famous goodie bags, with visitors flocking to pick up these unique goodies from the Carole Nash team.

We’re already looking forward to visiting Newark again in 2020. We can’t wait to see you there!
