What a weekend! The crowds turned out in force for the Carole Nash MCN London Motorcycle Show 2018, which was every bit as exciting as anticipated.
Over 72 action-packed hours, visitors to the Excel London event were treated to a biking bonanza that included live action riding, famous faces and – of course – plenty of freebies over at the Carole Nash stand.
We were joined by special guests from the JG Speedfit Kawasaki BSB team over the three-day event, as well as some breathtaking bikes and plenty of adrenaline-pumping action over in the Thunderdrome, which went down a storm!
Revving and racing
New for 2018 was the Michelin Thunderdrome, which proved to be a particularly popular attraction over the weekend. Featuring a specialist track, the Thunderdrome was inspired by 1900s boardtrack racing and designed with a 45-degree banking to showcase riders’ skills.
Burning rubber on the track over the course of the event were well-known names Chris ‘The Stalker’ Walker, former British Superbike Champion Neil Hodgson and motorcycle road racer Ruben Xaus, who had the crowds captivated with their white-knuckle racing.
James Hillier, Leon Haslam and Luke Mossey from the JG Speedfit Kawasaki BSB team were also among the famous faces in attendance – the riders had the enviable task of starting up some belting bikes before being interviewed by former MCN News editor himself, Marc Potter.
Trials rider Steve Colley made a welcome return with his stunt show and over in the Adventure Village intrepid explorers were invited to find out more about the adventures to be had when touring on two wheels.
Biking bargains and barn-finds
The Carole Nash MCN London Motorcycle Show 2018 wouldn’t be the same without a stunning array of machines to drool over and visitors feasted their eyes on some beautiful bikes, including a Lightning 124, Harley Street750, ZX10R and a covetable Velocette Model O.
Many models were up for grabs if the price was right at the on-site auction house, presided over by specialists Coys. More than 100 bikes went under the hammer during the three-day event, including a number of barn finds.
Alongside the auction were dozens of trade stalls ripe with all kinds of biking bargains, apparel and accessories, we well as parts and plenty of shiny new bikes from all the big brands to get riders hot under the collar. Cooling off was no problem, though, thanks to the new John McGuinness Bar serving up some chilled bevvies.
Cuppas, keyrings and more at the Carole Nash stand
The Carole Nash team loves nothing more than a chinwag about all things bike and visitors to our stand were invited to enjoy a free cuppa with every chat! Our specialists were on hand to answer questions and give out no-obligation bike insurance quotes to help riders save a few bob.
We also dished out goodie bags and lots of other handy extras, from pens to tyre pressure keyrings. Our daily prize draw was a big hit too and completely free to enter, with lots of biking prizes up for grabs.
We hope you enjoyed the Carole Nash MCN London Motorcycle Show 2018 as much as we did, see you at next year’s event – it’ll be hard to beat!
