More than 10,000 visitors flocked to the north east for Durham Bikewise 2018 on a gloriously sunny Sunday on 22 July.
And they couldn’t have had a better day. There was something for everyone, with another spectacular year reinforcing the event’s status as one of the best biking events on the calendar.
The Kangaroo Kid gets the crowd jumping
Top of the bill at Durham Bikewise 2018 was Australian stunt rider Matt Coulter – otherwise known as the ‘Kangaroo Kid’ – who wowed the audience by leading a breathtaking stunt crew show.
At one point, a member of the Carole Nash team was even involved on a quad, giving them memories they didn’t expect from this terrific day!
Paws Up also produced a spectacular ex-police dog display with the interceptors (including a farewell display for fans-favourite Kaizer!), while the police and air ambulance helicopters dropped in to give visitors a close-up look at what they get up to. Unsurprisingly, there were cameras aplenty with everyone wanting to get a look at these incredible machines.
A family-friendly atmosphere at Durham Bikewise 2018
There was no shortage of things to do for the little ones, either. Members of the Durham Police Motorcycle Section were out in force supervising youngsters as they got their first taste of riding in the Mini Bike Club.
And with bike stalls, good food and music lining up alongside some of the latest display models from some of the world’s biggest biking manufacturers, it’s no wonder there were so many smiles.
Down at the Carole Nash tent, we were thrilled to see so many visitors popping by for a friendly chat. As usual, there was plenty of demand for our famous bags filled with our exclusive Carole Nash goodies!
We can’t wait for our trip back to the North East in 2019. If it’s even half as good as 2018, we’re in for a cracker!
