The best of Ireland Bike Fest 2015

The Ireland Bike Fest 2015 was proof, if any were needed, that it takes more than a few blustery showers to keep a good biker down!

The iffy weather did nothing to keep the crowds away from Killarney over the weekend of 29 May to 1 June, at Ireland’s biggest free biking event – the Ireland Bike Fest 2015.

Since it was first held in 2006, the Ireland Bike Fest has grown beyond recognition, attracting bikers (and bikes!) from all over Europe – and even further afield – to Ireland’s ‘wild Atlantic way’.

Highlights of Ireland Bike Fest 2015

This year’s fun started at midday on Friday in the ‘Bike Village’ at the Gleneagles Hotel, and didn’t pause for breath until late into the night on Sunday. There were live bands playing throughout the day, every day, including legendary Irish rockers Aslan.  And the dozens of gear, grub and gadget stalls and stands did a roaring trade all weekend.

The Carole Nash Crew were kept busy, too, handing out goodie bags and balloons to the little ones (and not so little ones!), providing on-the-spot money-saving motorcycle insurance quotes and promoting our fantastic ‘place your bets’ offer – which guarantees to beat your existing renewal quote, or give you €10*! We also had an amazing response to our regular prize draw give away to win €250 off your insurance. **

The free Harley-Davidson rides every hour, on the hour, proved to be a huge success, with people queueing up for a ride on a HOG, and there were plenty of gleaming machines on display from makes such as Triumph, BMW, Honda, Ducati, Suzuki, Yamaha and Kawasaki.

Riding out at Ireland Bike Fest

The damp weather didn’t deter people from the ride-outs either – although it was easy to see why this part of Ireland is known as the ‘wild Atlantic way’! Some of the ride-outs were guided, but there were plenty of riders who preferred to make their own way, following one of the well-signed routes along the coast or inland.

As a free event, this has to be one of Ireland’s best – and not just because of the rip-roaring Irish hospitality! If you missed this year’s Ireland Bike Fest 2015, you can see what all the fuss was about on the website: – and start planning your visit for next year!
