Saturday 21st May – Sunday 22nd May 2016

Whether you ride a Harley, café racer, sport bike or scrambler, then Santa Pod Raceway was the place to be on 21-22 May for the first-ever Race, Rock and Ride show.

Race, Rock and Ride 2016 wasn’t just a chance to admire the skills of the riders on show – thousands of bike fans got the chance to show off their own abilities, too, with the drag racing championship and the wheelie competition pushing everyone to the max!

Feel the burn

Anyone still looking for excitement didn’t have far to search. Fireforce 3, the world-record breaking jet car, simply blew everyone away. A huge crowd jostled to see what it could do – and were left open-mouthed in astonishment. This beast tore up the quarter-mile strip in five seconds, reaching more 300mph as it went. The noise and the speed were simply incredible.

Elsewhere, a stunt show from Steve ‘Mr Showtime’ Colley had the crowds gasping in amazement. ‘Show and Shine’ gave visitors the chance to look at a collection of some of the best bikes in the country. And the Podzilla Monster Truck displays demonstrated a thrilling combination of size and power.

With so much going on, it meant even a cold first day reached scorching temperatures for all involved. By day two, when the sun came out, there wasn’t a better place to be anywhere in the UK.

Partying into the night

As an action-packed first day drew to a close, the excitement was just getting started. Live/Wire, the AC/DC tribute band, blasted out their collection of hard rock with trademark cannons and a wall of Marshall speakers. So whether it was the noise of engines or the chorus of some of rock’s biggest hits, the soundtrack to Saturday was biker heaven.
