Not only does a Puma come in at a starting price of around £500, repairs to these cars are pretty cheap compared to other classic cars. Primarily because everything is Fiesta-based. Puma’s are fun and jaunty to drive and at such low prices, they have to increase in value at some point!
2. Mercedes-Benz 190 (1983-1993)
If you’re looking for a rewarding car that’s good value then a spacious Merc could be the modern classic for you. Comfortable with a high build quality, this is a car that you drive every day if you wanted. Prices start from around £500 because there’s quite a few around, but that also means there’s lots of choice!
3. BMW 6-Series (second-generation) 2008-2011
These cars are set up well for distance driving, so if you plan on taking long trips in your modern classic, this could be the car for you. It’s classy, comfortable and has a big old-fashioned engine to boot. Prices start from around £4,000 but repairs are likely to be costly which can inflate the price.
4. Aston Martin DB7 (1994-2004)
Fast, classy and perfectly suited to long-distance travel – can you believe you can get an Aston Martin DB7 for £19,000? Whilst it’s amazing value the running costs will be quite high so that’s something to take into consideration. But it’s an Aston Martin!
5. Jaguar S-Type R (2002-2008)
For around £6,000 you can get yourself an old-school saloon with a wood and leather interior. Oh and it’s also a Jaguar! The S-Type R has a thumping 400bhp V8 and is a truly excellent luxury car. Sounds like a bargain to us.
