Classic car hire company Great Escape has moved to a new, larger site due to growing demand, the Birmingham Post has reported.
The company, founded by Graham and Janine Eason in 2006, rents and leases out classic cars to clients for special occasions, such as birthdays, anniversaries and weddings. It also supplies cars for TV, film and advertising, as well as for corporate events in the UK.
Demand has grown enormously since the company’s opening, which has led to the firm moving from its initial location in Astwood Bank Business Park to a new site in Dunlop Road, Hunt End, Redditch. The new unit covers a huge 4,810 sq ft, and the company is now the largest classic car hire firm in the UK with a total of 60 cars on offer.
Mr Eason said the move was essential as they had “outgrown” their old base, and added that Dunlop Road will give his company more room from which to serve their clients. He said that his company is now expanding into restoring classic cars, as well.
Great Escape Classic Car Hire began its ventures with just two cars – an Alfa Romeo spider and a Jensen Interceptor. Now, the line-up showcases a huge variety of models, from 1950s Morris Minors to contemporary Jaguars. The firm operates in locations across the UK, including Yorkshire, Devon, and the Cotswolds, with also smaller owner-operated locations in the Peak District, Leeds, Shropshire and even France.
Car hire prices range from £95 per day for an Alfa Romeo Spider, to £349 for a Jaguar E-type V12 Convertible.
