Over the past few weeks we’ve been looking back over Mark Evans’ great TV series An MG Is Born, in which Mark, Les (the Bloke from Stoke) and a dedicated team undertook a complete restoration of a 1973 MGB Roadster. Though you can still pick up a DVD of the great series, Mark’s behind-the-scenes look has shown us even more of the project’s nuts, bolts, highs, and lows – a must-read for classic car fans.

This week sees Mark and co. continue to batter away at the car’s metal shell. It’s hard work, and spirits are low as their deadline begins to loom for the first time, but the team power through, working on the wheel arches and rear wings, eventually coming out with a lovingly-restored body shell just raring to go for the rest of the renovation.

Grab a cup of tea and click below to read part three, and see just how Mark and Les got on – as well as picking up some top tips if you’re ever thinking of undertaking a similar project yourself.
