REVIEW

Thousands showed up – and someone shelled out thousands!

Guess what grabbed the headlines at the 36th Carole Nash International Classic Motorcycle Show 2016? A staggering bid of around £300,000 for a Brough Superior in the Bonham’s auction.

Yet that was only one of the highlights as thousands of fans flocked around the Staffordshire County Showground to lap up the cream of classic British motorcycling. An unforgettable weekend featuring the very best of what biking is all about.

Fun in the sun at the 36th Carole Nash International Classic Motorcycle Show 2016

The weather was sunny and warm – but the bikes were a heck of a lot hotter. Whether in the halls or out in the fields, wherever you turned there were rows and rows of jaw-dropping machines to drool over. And you could get as close as you liked to explore exactly what each one had to offer.

Also putting on dazzling displays were the many dedicated enthusiast clubs from all around the country, who all did themselves proud. So it really was a classic case of being spoilt for choice! Good job there were two days to take everything in.

The 36th Carole Nash International Classic Motorcycle Show 2016 was a bargain

Not everyone’s got £300,000 to spare, so it’s just as well there were so many of the ever-popular autojumble stands. That meant there were stacks of stuff at bargain prices. Leathers, helmets, accessories and all things bike. And even the main trade stands dished up some very eye-catching offers for bikers who were watching their cash.

Stars shone at the 36th Carole Nash International Classic Motorcycle Show 2016

It might have been broad daylight, but it was a great place for seeing the brightest stars. There were lots of famous faces making guest appearances, and lots of chances for bikers to chat with them and get brilliant selfies with some of the biggest names on two wheels!

Off-road adventure at the 36th Carole Nash International Classic Motorcycle Show 2016

The show gave great chances to get close up to every detail of just what it is that makes a classic a classic. But ‘classic’ definitely didn’t mean static! Lots of machines were fired up and came to full-throated life – providing plenty of thrilling action and performing stunts that demonstrated breathtaking skills.

It was great to see classic machines take a more exciting route and go off-road, too. Brutes that you just knew were well able to shrug off the harshest challenge and roll over anything in their way.

The Carole Nash stand was the place for winners

It was definitely a show to remember for our lucky competition winner, who got to sit down for lunch with Steve Parrish, as well as picking up two complementary tickets for the show.

As show sponsors, of course, we were handing out even more on our brand new stand. Goodie bags galore plus we entered visitors into out free prize drawer to win a fantastic GoPro camera package.
