Got a question

After a tense first round in Qatar that saw last year's champion pushed down into fifth place – far behind victorious title rival Valentino Rossi – Marc Marquez was back on form in Austin at Round 2 of the MotoGP! Unexpectedly sunny skies were the order of the day as the season's second race took place.

Keeping up the streak he began in 2013, Marquez stormed to victory on the mammoth Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, giving him an incredible 100% record on the course. The Spanish racer also smashed some circuit records, setting a new fastest lap and best pole.

Meanwhile, round one champ Rossi ended up in third, whereas Andrea Dovizioso earned his second silver spot, putting him in good stead to improve on his fifth-place finish from 2014. Dovizioso led the pack for the first few laps, before Marquez left him in the dust on lap five and stayed in the lead for the rest of the race.

As it stands, Rossi, Dovizioso and Marquez are dominating the overall competition standings, with just five points between them, and third-place Marquez standing 11 ahead of Andrea Iannone in fourth. The standings at the end of Round 2 are:

1 Valentino ROSSI Yamaha ITA 41

Next week the GP heads to Argentina to tear up Termas de Rio Hondo, where Marquez cleaned up once again last year. Will he repeat his performance?
