The show season has really got into its stride, as hot on the heels of last weekend’s Carole Nash Great Scottish Bike Show, we here at insidebikes prepare for the mighty BMF Peterborough Motorcycle Show.
Billed as Europe’s biggest outdoor motorcycle show, the event’s tasty line-up of bikes, stunt displays, moto gymkhana and live entertainment is set to attract over 40,000 bikers to the East of England Showground.
The BMF is also keeping things fresh with the introduction of two new areas dedicated to Adventure & Overland Touring and Classic & Vintage bikes. Fans flocking to the latter should also take heed of Carole Nash’s recently launched classic and vintage motorcycle insurance policies. Not only has this move seen thousands of bike models as young as ten years old becoming eligible for lower cost classic motorcycle insurance rates, but owners of traditional classic and vintage machines now benefit from a fixed £50 and zero excesses respectively.
A major draw will as ever be the ‘Best In Show’ competition. Not since the hard-fought Built In Britain contest with such a fine collection of machines be up for public appraisal. Shortlisted bikes will be on display for the entire weekend with prizes offered across seven classes – Custom, Best Rat, 3 Wheeler, Sports/Superbike, Streetfighter, Chopper/Engineer and Classic and Vintage.
This is also one of the few events that you get to pitch a tent and chat bikes under the stars. Weather willing a couple of nights under canvas always adds to the general biking bonhomie!
Also under canvas (well, a man-made alternative) will be the Carole Nash team. Housed in the company marquee, they’ll be dishing out the usual freebies, answering any questions you have regarding your motorcycle insurance and pointing you in the direction of the rather delicious Ultimate Biking Giveaway **prize draw. You could be in with a chance of winning a whopping prize which includes a Suzuki GSR 750, European Moto GP or SBK biking holiday for two, up to two grand in biking gear, a Suzuki Alto motor, bike show tickets……..and more. But remember, you’ve got to be in it to win it!
