As you probably know already, this weekend was the Manchester Motorcycle Show at the Central Convention Centre. Bike enthusiasts from around the UK gathered for the two-day event, where manufacturers revealed their latest models and famous riders gave talks and demonstrations.
Visitors were treated to an awesome battle for the King of Manchester title between four times British Trial Champion James Dabill and former Trial World Champion Dougie Lampkin.
Spectators were on the edge of their seats watching Lampkin and Dabill battling it out for the title across the weekend. The trial champions competed in several head-to-head challenges, and although Lampkin proved to be tough competition, Dabill took the overall top spot.
Other highlights included a guest appearance from British extreme motorcyclist Nick Sanders, who greeted and talked with fans at the Yamaha stand on Saturday and Sunday.
Seven-time TT winner Michael Dunlop also attended the event on Sunday at the Hunts Honda stand, where he talked about his career as a professional motorcycle racer.
Manufacturers such as Suzuki, Honda, Kawasaki and Harley-Davidson all had stands at the event, so visitors were able to get first-hand advice on bikes.
We were impressed by the number of stands at the retail village, selling everything from motorbike related clothing and accessories to vintage signs. All-in-all, this year was hailed as a great success by both visitors and exhibitors, and we’re eager to see what next year has in store for us.
