Dunlop closes Classic TT with third win

Michael Dunlop

Michael Dunlop closed the 2026 Isle of Man Classic TT Races with victory in the Senior Classic TT, taking the Team Classic Suzuki GSX-R750 to its second win of the event and bagging his third Classic TT win of the year.

The 36-time TT winner had ridden the Suzuki to success in Sunday’s Formula One Classic TT, in a tight race that had seen him take the honours by less than a second from Jamie Coward, but this time around he was able to stretch his advantage and win by almost 12 seconds over the Yorkshireman, with Coward’s Greenall Racing Kawasaki ZXR750 team-mate Nathan Harrison completing the podium in third.

Held in near perfect racing conditions, the rescheduled event vindicated race officials’ decision to bring forward the festival-closing Formula One race from Friday to Tuesday.

Coward had led the initial stages of the race, but Dunlop had edged ahead by the time they reached Ramsey Hairpin for the first time and never looked back. He took the 30-year-old GSX-R750 to a 128.596mph second lap to extend his advantage to over seven seconds, with a further 128mph lap sealing his third win of the event – alongside the Classic Formula One and Classic Lightweight TTs.

Just off the podium, Shaun Anderson took fourth on another Suzuki, ahead of Mistral Racing Kawasaki riders Joe Yeardsley and Micko Sweeney.

While the Classic Senior brought the race activities to a close on the Mountain Course for another year, the festival continued with a number of parade laps – while off track entertainment is taking place through to Friday.
