There’s nothing quite like the feeling of owning an eye-catching classic motorbike, which has years of heritage behind it. Naturally, you’ll want to make sure your two-wheeled pride and joy is fully protected.

That’s why, as one of the UK’s leading motorbike insurance brokers, we offer classic motorbike insurance specifically designed to cover your unique ride, and give you peace of mind. You can get a free, no-obligation quote with us today by calling 0333 055 3355.

What makes a motorcycle a classic?

You may be wondering if your bike qualifies as a classic motorcycle, or whether it’s old enough to be counted as one. Well, we’ll break it down for you here, so that you can make the most informed decision when it comes to your bike insurance.

There are distinctions between what makes a motorbike classic, vintage or a future classic in the making. It’s important to understand the differences, especially when it comes to how the age of a bike can affect its classification.

Essentially, if your motorbike is between 20 and 30 years old, then it can qualify for our classic motorbike insurance. Alternatively, if it’s over 30 years old, then it will actually be eligible for a vintage motorbike policy quote. Don’t worry if your bike happens to be between 10 and 20 years old though, as you will still be eligible to get a quote for our future classic motorbike insurance.

Do I need classic motorbike cover?

If you intend on riding a motorbike on the road, then of course having bike insurance is a legal requirement – at the very least you’ll need to have third-party cover in place. When riding a classic model, you’ll likely be wanting to find a more comprehensive policy, which can offer you and your bike a better level of cover.

Is classic motorbike insurance different to standard bike cover?

Generally speaking, insurers may offer a lower premium for owners of a classic motorbike, for the following reasons:

  • As the owner of classic motorcycle, it’s more likely that you’ll spend more time making sure that it’s kept in pristine condition, and that it’s well-maintained.
  • You’ll likely be riding it a lot less than a standard motorbike – for example, the majority of classic bike owners don’t tend to commute to work on a prized classic vehicle!

These reasons mean it’s less likely that you’ll make a claim on your motorbike insurance, therefore insurers see you as less of a risk.

How can you benefit from classic motorbike insurance?

With Carole Nash, you can be confident that you’ll find exactly what you’re looking for when it comes to classic bike insurance. Our policies offer a variety of benefits, including low-mileage discounts, salvage retention rights, low excess, and cover for club rallies.

One of the biggest benefits we include is ‘agreed value’. As a classic bike owner, you’ll likely be aware that the market value may not accurately reflect the value of your motorbike, so we offer this to make sure you have peace of mind knowing that your classic bike is fully covered for its true value. Getting a quote with us couldn’t be simpler –  call our friendly team on 0333 055 3355 today.
