When you think of the word expedition, you think of a big adventure – and that is exactly what Husqvarna have in mind with the release of their higher specification take on the Norden 901. Based on KTM’s 890 Adventure platform, the standard Husqvarna Norden 901 impressed us when we reviewed it last year, and with these changes the Expedition version could well be the newest, seriously potent package in the sub-1000cc adventure category.
Although the chassis, engine and electronics remain pretty much the same, one of the biggest changes to the Norden 901 Expedition comes in the form of uprated suspension. The new, WP EXPLOR units are not only fully adjustable but they also give you more travel, offering up an impressive 240mm at both the front and rear end, compared to 220mm and 215mm on the standard model. This means that not only should the suspension offer a bit more feedback, but it should also make the Expedition version of the Norden 901 a bit more capable for gnarly off-roading, especially with the heavy duty skid plate.
Husqvarna have also given their 901 Expedition some nice additions in terms of practicality with heated grips, a heated seat, a soft luggage set, a taller windscreen and a centre stand all coming standard. They’ve then finished it off with lovely, bespoke colour scheme too.
The 2023 Norden 901 Expedition will be available from this month and will set you back £13,599 on the road.
