Europe’s most successful sports scooter gets a host of updates for 2022.
They might be something of a rarity on British roads, but Yamaha’s TMAX has been a true success story since its release in 2001, selling by the bucket load in Europe and beyond. And now for 2022, Yamaha have taken things up a notch with their updated TMAX Tech MAX.
It’s more about evolution rather than revolution, with Yamaha keeping the same engine and chassis as before, although the aesthetics have been heavily updated for a more dynamic and sportier look. They’ve then given the Tech MAX a 7” TFT dash which will connect to your phone, while you can also use in-built Garmin navigation if you subscribe to it. The riding position has changed slightly for the 2022 model, in a more aggressive way, to make for a sportier and what Yamaha calls a more engaging ride.
It’s not just about the sportiness though, as the backrest is now adjustable and the windscreen is more compact than before, while still being adjustable too. In order to complement the sportier riding position Yamaha have equipped the TMAX Tech MAX with newly developed suspension to give a bit more front-end feel, lightweight wheels and a set of new model-specific Bridgestone Battlax SC2 rubber.
There’s no words just yet on price and availability, but expect to see them in dealers early 2022, and to be priced north of the current £12,000 price tag.
