International Mini Meet 2014: 31 July – 3 August

Are you a Mini enthusiast? If you are, you definitely don’t want to miss this year’s International Mini Meet (IMM), which will take place from 31 July to 3 August at the Kent Event Centre near Maidstone in Kent.

The event, which is hosted by Southern Mini Owners Club this year, is a gathering of Mini owners and clubs from across the globe. The event is held in a different country each year and is held in England – Mini’s birthplace – every five years around the marque’s birthday in August.

This year there will be a special celebration for Mini as it turns 55. The Sunday of the event will host ‘Mini 55’ with plenty of anniversary-treats planned for the day. All members of the public can attend the Sunday and there will be a closing ceremony in the evening, where the IMM key will be passed on to the club responsible for organising the 2015 event.

The IMM started off in Germany in 1978 as a small, three-day camping event. After just a few years the event gained huge popularity, attracting visitors from across the globe. Last year the event was held in Mugello in Italy, with 2000 cars and around 5000 people attending.

Along with a fantastic display of Minis, there will be plenty of entertainment, traders, local ale and food stalls, games and much more. The event is also a fantastic opportunity to bag a few bargains for your Mini.

We are sponsoring the event this year and will be bringing our Spark Plug Challenge along with us. So, don’t forget to come over and say ‘hi!’ if you want to be in with a chance of winning a stunning Triumph Spitfire.
