We’re big fans of Triumph’s Tiger Sport 800 and, for 2026, there will be a ‘new’ variant in the range.
Although trailed as a new model, the Tiger Sport 800 Tour is essentially a standard Tiger Sport 800 with much of the accessories brochure thrown at it – and there’s nothing wrong with that! It gets three piece luggage, heated grips, a thicker comfort seat, tyre pressure monitoring sensors, centre stand and handguards included as standard, accessories that would rack up a bill of over £2000 if specified separately – but factory fitted for a £1750 premium over the base model.
At £12,850 the Tiger Sport 800 Tour goes up against competition which includes Yamaha’s £14k Tracer 9 GT and Honda’s bigger and more powerful CB1000GT, which at £11,999 will really shake up the sports touring market with its aggressive launch price.
As well as the added spec, the Tigers will come in a choice of two new and more upmarket colours and liveries: a Matt Cobalt/Matt Black combo or a more vibrant red with black detailing. Both colours chemes get new graphics and gold highlights which, in themselves, create a more premium look. With the luggage colour matched, the 800 Tour looks classy enough and should have huge luggage carrying capacity, with the top box alone said to be big enough to swallow two helmets and total luggage capacity coming in at 106 litres across the top box and panniers.
Mechanically, the Triumph Tiger Sport 800 Tour retains all the standard model’s features, which means the same lusty 113bhp three-cylinder engine, with the ‘Shift Assist’ quickshifter, cornering ABS and cornering traction control, decent suspension, Michelin Road 5 tyres and a big fuel tank to give touring levels of range. Wet weight is now a claimed 232kg with all the extra equipment, so should still be manageable for most riders.
