Yamaha has a long racing history, having competed in and won motorcycle races since the 1950s. Paying tribute to this legacy, Yamaha’s Sport Heritage range features some handsome bikes, although so far the XSRs from the 125 to 900 have all shared pretty similar looks.
With the introduction of a new easy-to-fit mini-fairing and seat cover colour matched to the original bike’s blue or black paintwork (both Yamaha genuine accessories) the XSR900 ‘Racer’ gives a nod to the company’s illustrious racing past, and furnishes the bike with a whole new look.
Behind the retro looks, the XSR900 is a capable, modern motorcycle featuring the legendary Deltabox chassis design and powered by the 890cc CP3 engine.
The accessories mean you can add to the stock bike’s appeal by making it a ‘Racer’ with the compact fibreglass reinforced plastic (FRP) retro-styled mini cowling that, together with the XSR’s round LED headlamp, recreates the curvy look of the 500cc and 250cc Grand Prix machines raced in the 1970/80s.
Completing the look is an FRP seat cowling for the XSR’s racer-inspired humped pillion seat, exuding vibes of the Yamaha TZ, which will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2023.
Yamaha Motor will debut the stunning accessorised XSR900 Racer at the upcoming Bike Shed Moto Show on the 27th and 28th of May at Tobacco Wharf, London. These new accessories will be available in Yamaha dealerships and on their webshop from June 2023 in both Legend Blue and Midnight Black colour options.
