Here at Carole Nash, we noticed many bikers sharing their love of biking with their pets, riding around with their furry friends in tow and often even dressing them up in matching leather gear.
So, to celebrate these two passions and capture the combined love of motors and mutts, we launched a nationwide search looking for the best biker pet, asking bikers to submit photos of their two most precious possessions together.
Hundreds of great entries were shortlisted to the top ten and our brand ambassador, British Superbike racer Leon Haslam, had the tricky task of picking just one winner.
Barry J G Hamilton, 42, from Elgin was the lucky winner of the competition with this entry photo of his Mastiff dog Freyja lounging on a Honda quad bike:
Leon said: “There were so many great entries into the competition, but for me Barry’s entry stood out as a clear winner. I loved how Freyja had the attitude of a real biker. She looked like a natural!”
Barry is the co-founder and secretary of a non-profit off-road motorcycle club that runs scrambling events in the North East of Scotland. He’s been riding bikes since the age of 13.
He said: “Freyja was 4 months old in this photo. It was taken while we were setting up the course for the first 2 rounds of the ‘2015 ACU ‘Edmondson Racing’ British Enduro Championship’ last year over the Easter weekend in Scotland. I hadn’t had Freyja long and with her being a large breed dog it’s not good for them to run too much when they are younger as their bodies are developing so much. She loves the quad (Honda TRX 420) and quite often I go somewhere and head off with the tools and she just lies there watching. She’s a photographic dog and I could talk about her all day long!”
Upon the news of his win, Barry said: “We’re so chuffed that Leon chose us. I have already been browsing Sportsbikeshop and very much look forward to spending the vouchers. I’m sure if Freyja knew about her goodies she would be waiting at the gate for the post.”
As our winner, Barry will receive a £150 Sportsbikeshop voucher and £50 worth of animal goodies for Freyja.

Ross Anderson from Aberdeen and his Staffordshire bull terrier Neyo.
