What are the different types of Motorbike Insurance cover?

When you’re insuring your Ducati motorbike, you should choose cover that suits you and your ride. There are three types of bike insurance to pick from:

  • Third party: covers damage to a third party’s vehicle or property only
  • Third party, fire, and theft: as above and also protects you if your bike if it is stolen or damaged by fire
  • Comprehensive: The top level of cover available, Comprehensive includes all of the above whilst also insuring you for any accidental damage to your own bike

What may be excluded from my Ducati Motorcycle Insurance cover?

Certain circumstances will invalidate your motorcycle insurance. For example, any injury, loss, damage, or accident would not be covered if:

  • Your bike is being ridden by an unlicenced rider
  • Your Ducati is being ridden by someone who isn’t insured to use it
  • Your bike is carrying passengers or cargo in an unsafe way

It’s up to you to check these exclusions. Only a few examples are listed above, and you should refer to your policy wording for more details.
