32nd Bristol Classic Motorcycle Show

The classic bike show season kicked off with a bang last weekend as the 32nd Carole Nash Bristol Classic Motorcycle Show attracted a record number of visitors. Held at the Bath and West Showground, Shepton Mallet, the show – which traditionally is the season-opener for classic enthusiasts – saw a rise 7.5% ride in attendance, with around 20,000 bike fans visiting over the two days.

The crowd at the Carole Nash-sponsored event had more than ever to see and do, and the introduction of a Bonhams auction was a definite talking point. A first at the Bristol show, Bonhams auctions have been a regular feature at the Stafford classic bike shows. Highlights of the auction were ‘barn find’ gems from a single owner including bikes from the 1920s to the 1970s. The auction grossed a fraction under £250,000 with 126 out of the 130 lots sold.

Title event sponsor Carole Nash had staff on hand over the weekend to offer their expert advice on the best ways to protect your classic machine, providing competitive insurance quotes and helping understand the unique benefits of Carole Nash classic cover. “The Carole Nash stand was buzzing with visitors over the weekend”, commented Events Manager Sarah Griffiths. “The rise in attendance is great news and a really positive way to start the season.

The Bonhams auction was a fantastic addition to the show, and really got the crowds talking. We can’t wait for the next event now – roll on Scotland!”

Carole Nash will now look forward to the next show on the calendar with The Carole Nash MCN Scottish Motorcycle Show, 10-11 March 2012.
