This year’s INTERMOT show in Cologne, Germany, saw a raft of new models being unveiled.
BMW showed off its new S1000RR, R1200R and R1200RS designs and Suzuki pulled the wraps off its GSX-S1000F. The Kawasaki Ninja H2R, the Ducati Scrambler and the KTM Freeride E-SM were among the other new models that were talked about before the show and shown off at the event.
British manufacturer Triumph unveiled four new bikes, including the Street Triple Rx and three special edition models based on the Bonneville T100 or the standard Bonneville, taking the number of models produced by the company to 33.
The limited-edition Bonneville T214 is designed to celebrate the 1956 land speed record set at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. Featuring a hand-painted blue and white colour scheme complete with red and white chequer and a white star motif on the front mudguard, the new model will be limited to 1,000 bikes worldwide, each one individually numbered.
The T100-based special edition Bonneville Spirit aims to celebrate the “spirit of customisation” and is available with a range of components that can add styling, protection, comfort and performance. Its striking colour scheme has blue and white paint on the fuel tank and rear mudguard, contrasting with the customised black look of the handlebars, mirror housings, front mudguard, wheel rims and hubs. Other features include a minimalistic black headlight from the Triumph Scrambler and shortened rear mudguard from the Triumph Thruxton.
The new Bonneville Newchurch special edition celebrates the annual Tridays festival in Austria. It sports a new low-profile seat and is offered in a choice of red and white or blue and white, with blacked-out mudguards, headlamp bowl, handlebars, mirrors and springs.
The Street Triple Rx, meanwhile, is described by Triumph as “an extreme, eye-catching machine” which borrows inspiration from its TT and Daytona 200 winning supersports sibling, the Daytona 675R.
The limited-edition Bonneville T214 will be available at the end of October, while the other new models will be released next year.
