The Isle of Man TT, easily one of the most famous – and most exciting – events in the motorcycling calendar is now underway. Competition is already fast-paced and fierce, as usual, with some incredible performances coming from the first week of qualifying rounds.
Unfortunately, some bad weather and oil spillages interrupted the action throughout the week – always a risk at the Isle of Man. But when the circuit has been in action, Bruce Anstey has dominated the competition, leading the Superbike pack on Wednesday and Friday, and earning best laps on Thursday.
However, it’s Ian Hutchinson who has come out on top of the combined Superbike practice leaderboard after a week of solid performances, smashing the 130mph barrier with some incredible laps – both riders will be worth keeping an eye on in the week to come. Join us for our ongoing coverage of the race days as the week goes on!
Sadly, tragedy has already struck the competition – French rider Franck Petricola died following a crash during the qualifiers on Wednesday, and Carole Nash would like to offer our sympathies to his friends, family and team.
