Suzuki V-Strom 800RE gets the Tour treatment

V-Strom 800RE Tour

Suzuki is offering a discounted deal on luggage for its new V-Strom 800RE model, creating a new Tour edition priced at £11,199.

We’re big fans of the standard V-Strom 800RE, which was introduced towards the end of 2023. Chris Moss tested one for us last year and praised its accessibility and value for money. The ‘Tour’ edition costs £1500 than the base model but adds the 112-litre three-piece aluminium luggage system from Suzuki’s accessories brochure – giving a £706.94 saving compared to retrofitting the same items.

Beyond the luggage, which is available in either black or silver, the V-Strom 800RE remains as standard. The RE (which stands for Road Explorer) goes up against the likes of the Triumph Tiger Sport 660 and Yamaha Tracer 7 GT in the mid-capacity adventure/tourer crossover sector. Based on the taller and more adventure-focussed V-Strom 800DE, the RE features a smaller (19”) front wheel, cast wheels, shorter travel suspension and different ergonomics to make it more agile on the road, while increasing accessibility to a wider range of riders. The spec also includes an up-and-down quick shifter, with an electronics package including three selectable power modes and three traction control settings.

For riders who prefer the taller adventure bike style of the DE, Suzuki are still offering the same Tour package as an £1500 option for the V-Strom 800DE. The V-Strom 800DE Tour was introduced last summer, alongside a similar promotion on the 1050 range.
