Beachside biking has never looked better at the bike1066 Spring Opener 2018 For 40 years, bikers have been descending on East Sussex for the annual bike1066 Spring Opener – a stunning beachfront biking day in Hastings. This year the bike1066 Spring Opener is going to be bigger and better than ever, with all the action at Britain’s biggest free-to-attend motorcycle festival spread over three fun-packed days on the south coast: Saturday, 5 May to Monday, 7 May 2018.

Join the crowds at this year’s bike1066 Spring Opener

Hastings might be best known for a battle that took place almost 1,000 years ago, but the bike1066 Spring Opener is now its number one modern-day attraction. It’s packed with exhibitors selling the latest motorcycling accessories across four areas by the main car park and town centre, while the autojumble stands are a goldmine of potential biking treasure. You never know what you might spot, which is all part of the excitement. With live music, rows of stalls and thousands of motorcycles on show, it’s easy to see the attraction for the thousands of visitors set to head south. We’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for sunshine galore to top off a perfect weekend! An afternoon of action at bike1066 Spring Opener Top of the attractions is the famous ride-out, when riders gather in Locksbottom in Kent to travel one of the most popular and well-known routes in the country. It’s a tradition dating back to 1979, when naval engineer Tim Gooderson marked the inaugural bike 1066Spring Opener by riding from Kent to Hastings with just over 200 others. Today, the number of riders is much bigger – but the sense of history is just as great as ever.

There’ll also be live music and mouth-watering food stalls available over the 72 hours of this year’s bike1066 Spring Opener, while Hastings town centre is packed with top- notch shops, restaurants and bars that are geared up for bike fans from near and far.
