The great thing about car events is that you don’t have to be a hardcore fan to appreciate them. Whether you’re a seasoned enthusiast or have discovered your love for cars, there is something for everyone this year. 1. Brooklands Mini Day on 19th March
The impressive Brooklands museum in Weybridge is steeped in automotive history, with giant racing cars on display. The 19th March will be a celebration for the Mini, Britain’s favourite pocket-sized car. They’ll be all kinds of Minis on display, such as the modern BMW and older models.

2. Festival of Steam and Transport on 16th – 17th April
It’s full steam ahead at the annual Festival of Steam and Transport, held over the Easter break at The Historic Dockyard Chatham. In addition to the range of vintage cars on display, there will be street acts, locomotives, steam engines, Traction Engine Tug-O-War, Kentish food and much more!

3. Drive It Day on the 23rd April
Drive It Day is the perfect excuse for drivers to be on the road in their classic cars. Introduced by the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs, events will be held across the country to bring car fans together. They include rallies, drive outs and meetings at historic sites. Important venues to be considered are The British Motor Museum and Bicester Heritage.
4. Classic Ford Show on 4th June
The Classic Ford Show will take place at Santa Pod raceway in Northamptonshire. It’s the ultimate celebration for Ford lovers, with classic vehicles being at the centre of attention. There will also be a Face Off Competition, giving drivers the chance to set their fastest times. The winners will face off to crown the 2017 Face Off Champion.

5. Goodwood Festival of Speed on 22nd – 25th June
A festival dedicated to speed is bound to attract motorsport royalty and stars from all over the country. The Goodwood festival is held in Sussex, with fans getting the opportunity to see rare and glamorous cars. The main attraction is the 1.16 mile Hillclimb, which challenges the best drivers in the world.

6. CarFest North on 28th – 30th July
Launched by Radio 2 presenter Chris Evans in 2012, CarFest is located at Bolesworth Castle in Cheshire. The event raises money for Children in Need and involves music acts and car shows. This year there’s a new event being introduced called the Car-nival Parade, where families can decorate their cars and be featured in the parade.

7. Manchester Classic Car Show on 16th – 17th September
Held at Event City, the Manchester Classic Car Show will feature trade stands and live rallies. Car fans can get involved in restoration workshops and buy new parts. Every year, the event brings together the greatest car clubs in the UK.
