2018 has been a stellar year for classic car events so far, with many more yet to come. The summer is no exception and one of the most exciting is CarFest North, held at Bolesworth in Cheshire. From the 27th July to the 29th July, there will be all manner of fun events, ranging from car displays to live music. Founded by Chris Evans in 2012, CarFest raises funds Children in Need, so everything is done in the spirit of a good cause. We’re taking a closer look at what’s available during the event.
Cars galore
Motor enthusiasts can expect plenty of great vehicles to show up over the course of CarFest. The theme of this year’s track sprint is ‘Body Types,’ meaning there will a wide range of automotives to check out. The CarFest paddock will feature exclusive interviews with drivers and you’ll be able to get a closer look at the machines.
The Sporting Bears are also making a return. With each ride, they raise money for Children in Need and last year the team generated £120,000 for the charity. There’s also Car-Topia, which features vehicles from the UK’s finest car clubs.
For older vehicles, be sure to visit vintage village, which caters to people of all ages. To cap off the celebrations, the Car-Nival parade will have plenty of colour and excitement to keep you occupied.
Live music
The main stage is going to be filled with a plethora of glorious acts. Friday’s line up features Razorlight, Status Quo, The Proclaimers, Burt Bacharach and Who’s Molly? On Saturday acts range from Bananarama to Rick Astley. Sunday’s acts are Billy Ocean, Madness, Texas, The Feeling, The Lionels and Carfest Supergroup.
Glorious food
What goes well with awesome cars and music? Great food of course! There are a range of chefs appearing over the three days, from Angellica Bell to Gary Usher.
Fun for the whole family
In addition to everything else, there’s a host of other exhibitions taking place. Kids will be able to enjoy theatre shows that feature Roald Dahl stories and the Imagination Seekers Live Show.
