We love classic motorbikes here at Carole Nash, which is why we take the care to offer dedicated insurance policies for classic and vintage motorcycles. And for many riders a closed circuit is the best place to enjoy their machines, staying away from the hustle and bustle of traffic and being able to spend the day tweaking and tuning their pride and joy in the pits between sessions.
But trackdays can be a scary place at the best of times, never mind when you’re on an older bike, which is why team at Classic Bike Trackdays are arranging six dates in 2024 dedicated to classics of all vintages. Whether you’re on an old two-stroke, a 1990s superbike or even a modern day retro bike, the team’s events are designed to allow classic motorbike enthusiasts to enjoy their machines in a controlled environment, alongside others of a similar persuasion.
The events are a mix of traditional track days and wider national classic bike gatherings, with one event a month between April and September. The year starts with a two-day (Friday/Saturday) event at Wiltshire’s fast Castle Combe circuit, as part of the Classic Bike Burn-Up event, on 12-13 April, before Anglesey plays host to the Welsh Classic Motorcycle Festival on the weekend of 25-26 May.
The Classic Bike Trackday team will also be on track at the 2024 Suzuki Live event, which takes place at the historic Cadwell Park circuit in Lincolnshire on the weekend of 22-23 June. The event is, as the name suggests, run in conjunction with Suzuki GB and although the brand shows off their latest wares, there’s plenty of classic content too.
July sees a date with Donington Park on Friday 26 July, the day before the Classic Racing Motorcycle Club (CRMC)’s race weekend, while Friday 23 August sees a rare noisy day on the full Oulton Park circuit, again tied to a CRMC meeting.
The Classic Bike Trackday team round their year off with another trip to Lincolnshire and their own two-day festival at Cadwell Park’s ‘mini-Nurburgring’ on the weekend of 21-22 September. The Cadwell Moto should be a real treat for classic motorbike fans, with loads of off-track activity including static bike displays, club stands, live music, celebrity guests and plenty of partying. There’s also an adventure bike experience area on site, giving festival goers a chance to try out their modern day machines on an undulating 6km woodland course.
The days are open to all pre-2000 bikes with engines bigger than 125cc, as well as modern retros like the newer generation Triumph Bonneville, Kawasaki Z900RS and Moto Guzzi V7.
