Ducati Diavel for Bentley: luxury cars meet the motorbike world

Following on from their recent collaboration with Lamborghini, Ducati have announced a partnership with another Audi Group company to create another super exclusive version of its Diavel power cruiser.

Inspired by the £1.6 million Bentley Batur, just 500 examples of the ‘Ducati Diavel for Bentley’ will be produced, with a further 50 ‘Ducati Diavel for Bentley Mulliner’ bikes being reserved for Bentley car customers.

Priced from £58,000, the two-wheeled ‘Bentley’ is a mere snip compared to its four-wheeled cousin. Technically it’s the same as the regular 170bhp Diavel but the stunning detailing comes courtesy of Ducati’s Centro Stile Ducati and is inspired by the limited edition GT car, of which just 18 examples will be made.

The lustrous deep metallic ‘Scarab Green’ is a signature Bentley colour, while the Diavel’s aggressive lines have been softened though the adoption of some new styling parts which further link the bike and car.

Wheels, for example, are forged with the single sided swingarm showcasing a rear rim in the style and colour of the car’s 22” alloys. The bike’s side mounted air intakes are also inspired by the car’s distinctive red detailed grille, while the new Diavel tail piece is also influenced by the rear of the Batur.

As you would expect, the limited edition bike is dripping in quality components with top spec carbon fibre used extensively on parts including the fenders, headlamp cover, exhaust shroud, side panels and tail piece. The seat, covered in black Alcantara in line with the interior of the car, has the Bentley logo embossed in it. A collection of matching riding gear is also available, with a jet helmet and leather jacket also being made in limited numbers.

The Ducati Diavel for Bentley is expected to be snapped up by collectors, with each example coming with a numbered plaque on the right hand side of the bike, a certificate of authenticity and a bespoke bike cover. The bike also comes presented in a special wooden box for some extra ‘wow’ factor.

And if you happen to be a Bentley customer you’ll be eligible to buy one of the more exclusive ‘Mulliner’ versions. Mulliner is Bentley’s own custom shop, offering a bespoke service to its most discerning clientele. The Mulliner version of the Diavel can be modified to meet the customer’s taste, with the ability to match the colour of the bike to their car, as well as the option to change colours on many other components, such as the saddle, brake calipers, rims and carbon fibre parts. No prices have been indicated for the Mulliner model, but if you have to ask you probably can’t afford it.

Like Bentley, Ducati is part of the Audi Group. Last month Insidebikes spoke with Ducati Design Director Andrea Ferraresi, who spoke about working with other design directors throughout the group, including his colleagues at Lamborghini.

Such is the desirability of Ducati collaborations, they usually sell out pretty quickly, but if it sounds like your sort of thing and you’ve got a spare £58k lying around, head down to your local Ducati dealer to express an interest.
