The centenary celebrations of the Manx GP on Sunday 27th August feature a one-lap mass ride-out over the legendary TT Mountain Course.

Organised by the Manx Grand Prix Supporters Club, the ride-out is open to all riders of road-registered and insured motorcycles. The organisers request that all participants pre-register for the event at the Manx Grand Prix Supporters Club marquee, found at the rear of the grandstand, open daily from Sunday 20th August.

The speed-controlled lap will head away from pit lane at 10:00am on Sunday 27th August, but not before there’s a one-minute ‘Sound of Thunder’, which promises to be a spectacular moment for spectators and participants alike.

All those participating in the lap will be asked to meet at the grandstand on the morning of Sunday 27th August at 9:30am.

In the evening, the TE517 – an original MkIX Spitfire produced during WW2 – will take to the Manx skies for a solo aerobatic performance over Douglas Bay. The flight is scheduled for 7pm on Sunday 27th August.

The aircraft has undergone meticulous restoration, and allows spectators to experience the Spitfire as it was during its heyday, with the Rolls Royce engine roaring and propellers spinning as the aircraft performs twists and turns, showcasing its remarkable agility and transporting spectators back in time.

The festivities are part of the 2023 Manx GP, which also includes the Carole Nash Classic Senior Manx Grand Prix. Held over four laps on Saturday 26th August, the race sees some of the top TT racers battle it out on 500cc Grand Prix machines built prior to 1972.
