5 Impressive Restomod Car Companies

impressive-restomod-car-companies.jpg

Owning a classic car is a fabulous experience, but not every collector wants a vehicle with outdated parts that hinder performance. For people who value the beauty of a classic car and the reliability of modern technology, there’s a happy compromise. Restomod cars are restoration vehicles that have the appearance of an original car but use contemporary technology. The restomod market is becoming increasingly popular, and there are several companies who specialise in them. We’re listing five of the most impressive.

Alfaholics

Alfaholics specialise in the restoration of Alfa Romeos, with an emphasis on the Tipo 105. The company offers the ‘ultimate evolution,’ which involves over 3000 hours of labour to bring a 105 back to life. New technology includes a powerful 2.3-litre Alfa Twin Spark engine. Catering to ‘Alfistas’ all over the world, Alfaholics is based in Bristol and run by Maxim Banks, Andrew Banks and Richard Banks.

Eagle

The Jaguar E-Type is one of the most beautiful cars of all time, and Eagle specialise in restoring them to perfect condition. The UK-based company design a range of models that retain the spirit of the original E-Type. A good example is the Eagle Low Drag GT, which was inspired by a 1960s racing design. It features a 4.7-litre inline-six engine that produces 310 bhp, as well as a high-quality five-speed gearbox.

Frontline Developments

Established in 1991, Frontline Developments has earned a reputation for creating magnificent MG restomods. For example, they’ve used a 1965 body shell and combined it with a 304 bhp 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine and Mazda MX-5 gearbox. The company is located in Oxfordshire and their website offers plenty of useful information.

Kingsley Cars

Based in Oxfordshire, Kingsley Cars focus on Land Rover and Range Rover restomods. For example, the company has enhanced a classic Range Rover with a Chevrolet LS3 430 bhp engine. With 20 years of experience, the staff are extremely passionate about Rovers. Your car will be in good hands with them.

Singer Vehicle Design

There’s an argument to be made that Singer Vehicle Design features the most sought after restomods in the world. This is based on the attention to detail and quality of the cars that are produced. Singer specialises in Porsche 911 restomods, with each version being developed to individual tastes. Some Singer Porsches have featured a 4-litre air-cooled six-cylinder boxer engine. The California based organisation is certainly worth looking into.
