One of the biggest car shows of the year is going to be taking place at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham on November 9th – 11th. The 2018 Classic Motor Show will feature some of the most beautiful classic cars in the world and the main motif has been announced. The theme is going to be ‘Built to Last,’ which will have a special focus on the centenary of the end of World War 1.

Show director, Lee Masters went into detail about the choice. “We wanted a theme that paid tribute to the various elements of motoring but in particular the centenary of the end of World War 1, which falls on the final day of the show. If there is anything that sums up Built to Last, it’s the service men and women that ensured the safety and freedom of our country that we all enjoy today.”

Various military vehicles will be on display, alongside tribute vehicles for marques that are celebrating milestones. Built to Last covers 120 years of Renault, 110 years of the Ford Model T, 70 years of Land Rover and 130 years since the first Rover car went on the road. The theme also shines a light on classic motors that have been passed down from generation to generation. The vehicles have been singled out for their resilience and some will be reunited with their original owners.

Masters went on to say “it’s not only the show that is marking the impact of these thoroughbred cars as many manufacturers are now also looking to the cars of yesteryear for inspiration and protecting the heritage fleets for the enthusiasts of tomorrow.”

The show will also feature a number of events the whole family can enjoy. For example, LEGO is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, so certain models will be put on display. Tickets for the Classic Motor Show are on sale now and you can go to the website for more information.
