An Extravagant Classic Car Display Set For The 2018 Heveningham Hall Concours D’Elegance

With 2018 being a thrilling year for classic car events, we’re featuring some of the best expos to go to. For motor enthusiasts who value extravagance, the Heveningham Hall Concours d’Elegance could be exactly what you’re looking for. First taking place in 2016, the event focuses on bringing together the very best cars from around the world. With a backdrop like  Heveningham Hall, the vehicle displays are some of the most elegant in existence.

Several marques will be featured at the Concours d’Elegance, including Aston Martin, Mercedes-Benz, Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Alfa Romeo and Jaguar. The motors can be viewed across 5000 acres of grassland that’s housed on the Heveningham Hall premises. The Georgian mansion has plenty of history in its own right. Built between 1778 – 1780, the mansion was designed by Sir Robert Taylor for Sir Gerald Vanneck, the second Baron Huntingfield. The country house is stunning, featuring extravagant rooms and sprawling grounds.

A key feature of the 2018 festival is the return of the Heveningham Tour, with various cars travelling through the Suffolk countryside. Last year’s 50-mile tour saw 25 guests participating. Their cars included a 1985 Lancia Delta S4 Corse and 1951 Ferrari 212 Barchetta. A new feature for 2018 is concours’ owners getting the chance to race their cars in timed sprints.

Several awards are happening at the event, being split into three categories: best pre-war, best post-war and best supercar. The trophies are designed by respected local sculptor Laurence Edwards, further adding to the prestige of the awards.

The Concours d’Elegance is taking place at the same time as the annual Country Fair, which normally attracts around 20,000 visitors. Attractions range from acrobatic displays to powerboat speed racing, so there’s the opportunity for even more entertainment. In addition to the fair, an aviation concours is happening, which features some of the world’s rarest aircrafts.

There’s something for everyone at Heveningham Hall and the Concours d’Elegance is happening from the 30th June to the 1st July. In order to be part of the Country Fair, you’ll need to buy a seperate ticket.

Check out the Heveningham Hall Concours d’Elegance website for further information on ticket sales and news.
