Peugeot 3008 Revealed As The UK’s Favourite Car

Everyone has their own version of an ideal car, and the UK public have decided on their favourite. According to research carried out by Auto Express Driver Power, the Peugeot 3008 SUV is the nation’s most popular car. The 3008 SUV came in first place at the top of a poll that featured vehicles like the Alfa Romeo Giulia, Toyota Prius and Honda Civic. The French SUV earned a 93.88% customer satisfaction rating. This is a new record for the study.

It’s not the first accolade the Peugeot 3800 received, as the car has earned 38 global awards since it was introduced to the market. Editor-in-chief of Auto Express, Steve Fowler commented on the car’s performance saying it’s “providing precisely what owners want these days. It’s got the SUV style that’s in huge demand, but backs it up with a high-quality interior, plenty of space, a great drive and excellent reliability – it’s no surprise owners love it so much.”

The survey also revealed that people are happier with their motors compared to last year. Feedback from over 80,000 respondents indicated vehicle satisfaction is up from 89.83% in 2017 to 90.94% in 2018.

What’s interesting about the poll is that the majority of cars in the top ten list were built in other countries. The only UK manufactured car to rank was the Swindon-built Honda Civic that came in ninth place. Auto Express have suggested the reason for the increased satisfaction was because of the quality of cars entering the market.

Consumer editor, Martin Saarinen said “the last 12 months have seen some exceptional cars launched, so it’s no surprise to see Brits happy with their new motors. There’s still work to be done though, as new car owners continue to tell us that their vehicles aren’t always trouble free.”

New car owners reported more problems with their cars in 2018 than 2017. 14.36% of drivers said their vehicle had developed an issue that needed fixing in the last year. This was up from 12.15% from 2017. The survey also highlighted the trend of hybrid cars.

The following list shows the top 10 cars that make owners the happiest:

  1. Peugeot 3008 – 93.88%
  2. Kia Niro – 93.7%
  3. Alfa Romeo Giulia – 93.6%
