The Wessex Classic Car Tour will be making a comeback this year following huge success in 2013, and will be raising money for the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance, according to the press release. The event, which will take place on Sunday 28 September, is organised by the Ile Valley Classic Vehicle Club and the Classic Motoring Organisation.

The 100-mile route will start and finish near Ilminster, and will take the drivers through the stunning Somerset and Dorset countryside. All drivers will be treated to lunch in the 17th century Dorchester house that featured in Thomas Hardy’s Mayor of Casterbridge.

Entry fee for the event is £60 per pair and this covers both lunch and tea. Anyone with a car older than twenty years old is able to sign up, with more modern vehicles accepted at the discretion of the organisers. The tour is a non-competitive, scenic tour with no penalties or timings, and drivers can travel at their own pace.

The Ile Valley Classic Vehicle Club was recently formed by a group of enthusiasts and is based in Ilminster, Somerset. The members have a passion for using and preserving all things classic, from old bikes and cars, to tractors and commercial vehicles.?The Classic Motoring Organisation has been arranging classic car tours for over 25 years, organising events for clients across Europe and the UK.
