Bikers are generally a charitable bunch, from Christmas present runs to fundraisers aimed at fixing the church roof – we’re never shy of getting stuck in to help raise funds for a worthy cause – and there are few as worthy of some cash as the air ambulance service.

In recent years, the Bike4Life festival and the accompanying ride out to RAF Cosford has grown to become one of the UK’s biggest motorcycle festivals. The event, which this year takes place on 28th March, was created especially to raise cash for the Midlands Air Ambulance, who attend to more than 2,000 calls outs per year. With each call-out costing an average of £2,500, you can appreciate how important the event is to a charity like the Midlands Air Ambulance.

For 2019 the organisers are hoping to break the £100,000 (enough for 40 lifesaving missions) and this year will feature star guests including Steve Parrish, Carl Fogarty, Ron Haslam and Neil Hodgson in the rideout and festivities.

The ride out begins in Meole Brace at 11:30am and finishes 23-miles away at RAF Cosford. It’s steady 23-miles that’s designed to be enjoyable rather than exhilarating – this is about raising money and awareness more than goose bumps and white knuckles!

To take part go to the website and pay the registration fee – £10 per rider, £5 for a pillion and £5 for a walk-in ticket to the festival only.

Entering before March 8th will automatically enter you into a draw that could see you riding at the head of the field alongside the celebrity riders in front of 3,500 other riders.
