More about Think!...

Although former Supersport Champion Chaz Davies started riding at the age of 15, it wasn’t until recently that he passed his full category A licence. And while the world’s greatest tracks provide him with the perfect spots to hone his racing skills, Davies understands that when it comes to riding on the road, there’s still a great deal to learn.

Championed by Chaz and comedian Alan Davies, the ‘never too good’ campaign was created by THINK! in a bid to highlight how even the best riders can still improve their skills. In the videos below, follow Alan and Chaz as they head back to the basics in a bid to further their existing knowledge on bike safety and improve their overall technique.

Hints and tips

Helping you to stay safe on the roads, THINK! offer some brilliant tips for riders. By what’s known as ‘riding defensively’, THINK! argue that riders can become less vulnerable and much safer as a result - all you need to do is make sure you:

  • Anticipate the actions of others
  • Remain focussed and alert at all times
  • Can slow down and stop if the unexpected happens
  • Position yourself in the safest and best place to maximise visibility (so stop looking for the apex and stick to the middle of the road!)
  • Take a 'life save' glance over your shoulder before carrying our manoeuvres

When it comes to road safety, it’s hard to challenge THINK!’s standing, knowledge and reputation throughout the industry, so it’s always worth taking note of the tips listed above. However, if you’re looking at taking your safety to the next level, it’s always worth booking yourself on an advanced riders course.
